"Mountaineering: The term mountaineering describes the sport of mountain climbing. While some scholars identify mountaineering-related activities as climbing (rock and ice) and trekking up mountains, others are also adding backpacking, hiking, skiing, via ferrata and wilderness activities, and still others state that mountaineering activities also include indoor climbing, sport climbing and bouldering"

When we started our travel adventure, Barbara had "Machu-Picchu" in her bucket list. Oscar being adventurous came up with a trip of his own to make the trip to Peru even more fun and interesting. Being over 50 and feeling as if his childhood had just started all over again he came up with a challenge. To climb a mountain. So after having some conversations, we decided to trek throughout Peru to acclimate to the altitude before climbing Mt. Pisco @ 18,890 feet.
